Meet the Owner: Alex Peters
Sequoia Stonescapes started with a simple observation: most hardscape failures aren't caused by bad materials. They're caused by shortcuts in the work nobody sees: the base, the drainage, the compaction. The surface looks fine on day one. Three years later, it's sinking, cracking, or pooling water.
Alex Peters founded Sequoia Stonescapes to do the work differently. Every project gets engineered base prep sized to the actual soil conditions on that specific site. Every project gets proper drainage planning before the first paver goes down. Every project gets Alex's direct oversight from site assessment through final walkthrough.
That approach takes longer and costs more than the companies that show up, scrape off the topsoil, drop some gravel, and start laying pavers. But it's the reason our work holds up for decades instead of years. It's the reason we offer a 5-year craftsmanship warranty with confidence. And it's the reason our clients refer us to their neighbors.

Alex is CMHA-certified and has spent over a decade building hardscapes across Oregon, from residential patios in Salem to commercial retaining walls in the Portland metro. He personally oversees every Sequoia Stonescapes project, which means the person who designed your project is the same person making sure it's built correctly.
Before founding Sequoia Stonescapes, Alex worked with Western Interlock for 5 years. Seeing firsthand the work that contractors were installing motivated him to be and do different. Sequoia was built on the opposite principle: do fewer projects, do them right, and let the results speak for themselves.
Alex also operates PacWest Retaining Walls, Sequoia's commercial division, which handles large-scale retaining wall and site work projects throughout the region.
